The Hammonds Pond painting project was part funded by the Cumbria Police & Crime Commissioner as part of the Design out Crime programme which aims to reduce anti-social behaviour, engage young people and make public spaces more attractive to local people. As part of the National Citizen Service, delivered by Inspira, young people helped create a mural on the toilet block.

They were supported by local artist Lydia Leith and other volunteers.
